"No Train No Gain"

"NO PAIN NO GAIN"

You have heard it in gyms, on television and YouTube videos from personal trainers, fitness professionals and celebrity coaches. When I hear it-IT MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM.......

As an athlete, and everyone is an athlete if you hear those 4 words-run as fast as you can.

Training should never hurt. It should never cause any pain. Somewhere in the last 10 years we have grown used to the theory that a workout should be painful, it should hurt. If it doesn't hurt its not a good workout.

Well I am going to tell you that its all FALSE. You have been tricked. Your workout should make you feel you good. It should make you feel great. You should be able to walk up and down stairs, get in and out of you car and function as normal. There should be no pain. Soreness yes, pain no.

But here is something that is a FACT-if you don't train, you will never experience improvements in performance. Whether you are a 7 year old learning basic motor patterns such as sprinting or jumping or a mother who wants to stay in shape or an executive who is a former athlete who still wants that feeling of being an athlete-if you don't earn it you don't get it.

Training is something that must become a part of your routine. Like brushing your teeth and eating lunch.

Do something. Don't wait till next Monday(the very popular next Monday start day)

I am coining a new phrase today and I want you to use it. Tell your trainer next time you hear the words

"No Pain , No Gain" that the saying is actually "NO TRAIN NO GAIN"
